Hillary Clinton roasts Donald Trump by reading Fire and Fury at the Grammys

This bit probably didn’t go over well at the White House.

On a night that featured the biggest stars in music, it was Hillary Clinton who got one of the loudest reactions of the night. Clinton appeared at the end of a pre-taped skit in which various musicians read excerpts from Michael Wolff’s best-seller Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, purportedly auditioning for the audiobook most likely to take home Best Spoken Word Album at next year’s Grammys.

“One reason why he liked to eat at McDonald’s,” Clinton reads from the book, smirking, “nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade.”

Clinton’s delivery of the line was the capper of an otherwise lukewarm bit in which she was preceded by artists like Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Cher, and Cardi B delivering their own readings of lines from the book, along with some commentary.

“Why am I reading this shit?” Cardi B asks in the video.

Given President Donald Trump’s past behavior, it’s safe to assume the sketch probably won’t go over well wherever he’s watching. Even though he won the presidential election and defeated Clinton, he hasn’t stopped attacking her or her aides and cronies on social media — this past November, he called her the “biggest loser.”

Having Clinton, one of Trump’s favorite enemies, read from a book that Trump and his administration have vocally attacked, at one of the biggest, most celebrity-filled awards shows of the year, is exactly the type of thing likely to draw Trump’s ire.

The segment almost immediately evoked a response from Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley:

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted his distaste too:

Trump hadn’t tweeted as of publish time, but there’s always tomorrow.
