Only 8% of schools in England have received air monitors promised by government
Survey shows minister is falling short in pledge to send out 300,000 devices
More than nine in 10 schools are still waiting for airflow monitors, which can reduce the spread of Covid-19, despite the education secretary promising that a third of the units would be delivered by the end of this month.
Just 8% of the 300,000 CO2 monitors the government pledged to send to primary and secondary schools in England this term have been delivered, a Twitter poll by a primary school headteacher revealed last week. The poll found that about 92% of schools were still waiting for the devices, which will warn if air quality in a room has become unhealthy and airflow is poor.
