Jay Shah does mother proud with triple jump national record

When a 21-year-old Jay Shah hopped, skipped and jumped to 16.36 metres in distant Mangalore, his mother Neelam was overcome with emotion and burst into tears. Jay, 21, had won the triple jump gold in the inter-university in Mangalore, becoming perhaps the only Mumbai University athlete to win a field gold medal with a national record.
