FM Qureshi to leave for US on Saturday

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will leave for the United States on Saturday to represent Pakistan at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 73) will open on September 18. 2018. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, and is scheduled to last for nine working days.

On the sidelines of UNGA session, the foreign minister will also hold meetings with his counterparts of member states including the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

It is pertinent to note here that  earlier this month, after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s Pakistan visit, the foreign minister had announced that during his visit to New York for UN General Assembly session, he will also call on the Pompeo to hold talks.
