India may become a $5-trillion economy by 2025

India is a $2.6-trillion economy now, and economic affairs secretary Subhash Chandra Garg told the World Bank last week that it would grow to $5 trillion by 2025. Can India do it? Considering that its GDP doubled from $1 trillion to $2 trillion during 2007-14, it is certainly possible.
