Red skies over London - in pictures

The sun shone red and the sky darkened to tones of orange and sepia across parts of Britain as air and dust were swept in from southern Europe, and social media users shared pictures of ominous clouds blocking the sun. Met Office forecaster Grahame Madge said the unusual effect was caused by Ophelia, the hurricane now downgraded to a violent storm which battered Ireland on Monday.
